IS IT REALLY A "DEATH FAST" IF YOU HAVE NO INTENTION OF DYING?

Gene Chapman, the world's only living multiple "death faster", has ended his newest "death fast" as of 5 am this morning. See the entry immediately preceding this one for an overview of the fast itself.

He cited a talk show about Bush's suggested overhaul of the tax system. He says his theologians state that Bush will abolish the income tax, and replace it with a National Sales Tax. I'm not sure why theologians would be an expert on Presidential policy, much less what the President may be thinking. At any rate, Gene claims that meets Criteria #2 for ending the fast, which stated:

(I Corinthians 7:21b): If I can be made free by honorable (White House approved) means, I shall travel Freedom's path. (I've asked for Religious Assylum [sic] from both the Vatican and India.

How very convenient that he included the word "if" in that statement. In other words, he could end the fast on a mere possibility, no matter how slight that possibility may be. And, that's what he did. The President has not formally proposed abolishing the income tax for a National Sales Tax. Congress certainly has not approved such a plan. It would take many years to completely revamp the tax system, and there would likely be a great deal of public opposition since the poor and working poor would then shoulder a disproportionate percentage of the taxes just to live and feed their families.

Not only that, but our children will have to explain to their children that they don't have enough money in their piggy bank to buy the toy they want, because they have to cough up another 25% (guessing) to pay Uncle Sam his share.

Taking candy out of the mouths of babes. Now, that's an idea sure to engender a sense of national pride. Gene doesn't care, though. See, he thinks the President came up with this idea just because he went on a "death fast". Yes, I'm quite sure the President comes up with policies based on what a lone lunatic is doing in a hotel room in Austin, Texas. Rock on, megalomania!

In other words, Gene had an out from the "death fast" all along, and he knew it. He didn't need cold hard facts, he only needed rumor and innuendo of something that may never happen (and probably won't happen). He knew he wasn't going to die, because he had worded the details in such a way that he could always find a way to back out of it.

In other words, it was just another publicity stunt.

Now, how much do you want to bet that this lunatic will find a religious reason why he can't pay the National Sales Tax either? In fact, I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess what his excuse will be.

The Book of Revelations states

He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name.

I think he'll claim the National Sales Tax is a sign of the Mark of the Beast, and therefore against his religion yet again.

So look for yet another "death fast" on that issue. Problem is, after a while, nobody cares anymore about his "death fasts" because we all know he's not serious about it. Apparently no one ever read him the fable of "The Boy Who Cried Wolf". The only thing these stunts are good for at this point in time is comic relief.

Bottom line is that the guy is a tax protester, and he doesn't want to pay any taxes, period. Hell, none of us want to pay taxes, but we do it because it provides us with all the things people like him enjoy for free.

What an idiot. I say send him to India like he requested, one of the poorest countries in the world. Let him live in the slums there for the rest of his life. Then he'll wish he'd kept his mouth shut and just paid his taxes.

MULTIPLE "DEATH FASTER" AT IT AGAIN

Blog readers may recall several previous entries on Gene "TogaDude" Chapman, the Texas truck driver and Gandhi wannabe who has done such absurd publicity stunts as performing an "exorcism" on the IRS Building in Atlanta, Georgia, and going on a "death fast" against taxes. Obviously, since he's a multiple death faster, he didn't die. He backed out of the last one on Day 40 because he was told that Gandhi says we don't fast against those who don't love us. He decided the IRS didn't love him. It sounds to me more like a guy who wasn't prepared to actually die in the first place. He just wanted attention, and he's kind of known for that. He's not above coming up with some pretty tall tales in trying to get that attention, either.

He called Gandhi a "light-weight faster" compared to him, and claims that some Hindus believe him to be the reincarnation of Gandhi, although I suspect that no one thinks that except Gene. Nevertheless, we all know who Gandhi was. Very few people know who Gene Chapman is. And of those who do know who he is, almost all think he is certifiable.

In a most un-Gandhi-like move, he proposed to start his own armed militia, as I previously noted in this blog. He's kind of a wingnut, needless to say.

The guy has even said that he doesn't understand why he hasn't gotten a Nobel Prize yet for his actions in exposing that there is not really an income tax (even though everyone with a functioning brain knows that there is indeed an income tax).

He claims that he beat out financial genius Warren Buffett in picking stocks, and that they had something of a friendship. Someone talked to Buffett, and he says he's never heard of Gene Chapman. Buffett further stated that he would certainly remember anyone who could out-do him in the stock market.

Another wild claim by Gene is that he was "consulted" by the FBI during the Waco standoff. Nowhere in all the thousands of documents released since that time is he ever mentioned, although many other people are quite specifically mentioned as consultants. Furthermore, there is no evidence whatsoever that he had any credentials to even be a consultant. He says he had them pipe in certain Biblical verses a specific number of times over a loudspeaker. Nowhere does it ever say they did that either.

Apparently Gene lives in a world the rest of us never get to see.

In recent months, the IRS has really cracked down on Gene. I personally think it took them way longer to do that than it should have, and that they've been a lot nicer about it than they should be. See, Gene's a tax protester who intentionally filed fraudulent income tax returns specifically to evade payment of income taxes. As far as I'm concerned, he should have been prosecuted a long time ago. Yet, the IRS has been nice about it, even trying to set up a payment plan. You'd think he'd be grateful that they didn't just throw him in prison, but instead he vilifies them as "evil".

This is where it starts to get even more bizarre, and endlessly hilarious. Gene, a self-styled minister, very recently (and conveniently) decided that taxation is slavery pursuant to Biblical principals. He got a couple of people that he calls "Greek Scholars" to back up his interpretation of a single word, and has turned that one Greek word into his own tax protesting religion.

What's quite humorous is that one of those people who back him up was unashamedly referred to by Gene as a "Greek Scholar and upscale house painter", if that gives you an idea of the level of expertise he really sought. He now claims that taxation of any kind is slavery. He also claims that the Bible says it's okay to commit suicide rather than be a slave to taxes.

Gene must have a different Bible altogether than any one I've ever seen, because the Bible does not to my knowledge say any such thing. Whatever happened to "Render unto Caesar"? Well, Gene has his own unique interpretation of that, too. See, he claims that, in the United States, the citizens are "Caesar". Um, yeah.

At any rate, the IRS finally figured out that he was never going to voluntarily pay what he has owed for years. So understandably they started garnishing his paychecks and slapping liens on property. Gene then declared that he could not be a "slave", and went off on a number of weird tangents to try to get the government to back off from trying to collect his taxes.

He requested a "self-immolation permit" so he can set himself on fire on the steps of the IRS Building. Um, I just don't see that bizarre permit being approved. He said that he would slit his throat or his wrists rather than pay taxes, and said he bought some razor blades and was practicing by cutting his knuckles. When that didn't get him the attention he wanted, he then said he was going to commit the "Samson Solution" when he went to the IRS in Washington.

Now, THAT got him a LOT of attention.

Not surprisingly, the FBI, TIGTA, and the Department of Homeland Security were all over him once he posted that on his blog. For those of you who recall the story of Samson, he did all kinds of violent things. He slew 1000 people with the jawbone of an ass. Well, unless Gene's planning to slay 1000 people with his own jawbone, we can assume that's not what he meant. Samson foolishly let a woman cut his hair, which was the source of his strength. Gene's bald, and as far as I can tell, he has no strength of body, mind, or convictions. So that can't be it either.

Samson's final solution, however, was to collapse a government building, killing all inside. Shades of Timothy McVeigh? The government was quite obviously concerned, as well they should have been especially considering that he at that time was driving a semi.

There is quite a big difference between Gene and Samson, though. Samson really was a slave. Gene Chapman just thinks he's one. Frankly, I find it offensive that he would even begin to compare paying taxes to actually being a slave. It doesn't even make sense.

Gene "turned in" his social security number, making this huge production of it because he believes it to be the Mark of the Beast and proof of his "slave" status. He made an appointment and even invited people to come watch him do it. However, since social security numbers are not worldwide, that theory also doesn't make sense. It's additionally worth noting that you can't turn in your social security number. Once it's issued, it's yours forever. You can give them the card back, which is an exercise in pure futility; and you can say that you don't have a social security number, but if you do that, you're lying because you do still have one. He even once went on a tangent about how his mother, when he was just a little kid, signed him up for the "Mark of the Beast" by getting him a social security number. He's not only an idiot, he's a disgraceful son. His mother ought to slap him upside the head for saying disrespectful crap like that about her on the internet.

Gene then decided to camp out in front of the IRS in Washington. The federal agents, still understandably wary of his "Samson Solution" threats, kept coming out and asking him the same questions over and over again. Then they took him into the lobby and told him that if he makes less than $7800 per year, he doesn't have to file taxes. At any rate, he couldn't handle being asked the same questions over and over - in other words, getting the attention he wanted in the first place - so he left after only about 28 hours.

Way to stand by your convictions, Gene.

He now has requested religious "assylum" from the Vatican. I can't imagine that happening, for a number of reasons. First, he's not even Catholic, he's Baptist. Second, his claim makes no sense. Third, he made up some wild story a while back about leading something like 600,000 people in a protest against the Pope during one of the Pope's visits to the US. No one has ever been able to substantiate that story, although many have tried. Nevertheless, the fact that he said it - and posted it on the internet - doesn't speak well of the chance that the Vatican would even consider giving him "assylum".

He has also requested "assylum" from just about every other country on earth. The funny thing is, he has yet to apply to even one without an income tax. I guess that's why he calls it "assylum". He just pulls this stuff out of his ass.

Now, that's another interesting thing about Gene. He makes all kinds of wild claims that cannot be substantiated. Some of those have been chronicled in this blog either here or in previous entries, some have not. There are just too many of them to keep up with. The most notable is that he claims to be a minister, but there's nothing to suggest that he is any such thing except in his own mind. He has never worked as a minister (although he claims to have spent numerous years in a monastery, when challenged he claimed that his semi was his monastery). He claims to have studied for the ministry for 10 years. Truth is, he attended a couple years of college, but he never got a degree and was never a seminary student.

Even more telling is that Gene doesn't act like a minister either. Recently another tax protester talked to Gene on the phone. The fellow was despondent and suicidal over the IRS garnishing his wages. Did Gene give him counsel to have faith in God, or even to keep his chin up? Nope. Gene told him it would be spiritually acceptable for him to hang himself to death and become a "martyr" for the tax protesting cause. Then Gene launched into a bizarre prayer asking God that this guy have a "painless death" in the face of "Socialist/Communist" IRS oppression.

That doesn't sound like any minister I've ever heard of. It sounds more like a dangerous cult leader to me.

Now, Gene is on another "death fast"; today is Day 22. He has decided that the IRS loves him after all (probably due to all the attention they gave him when he was in Washington), and so now it's ok to fast against them.

He claims to be drinking some water, but otherwise taking in no nutrients at all - no salt, no vitamins, no food. He calls this the "White House Death Fast" even though he's doing it in a motel in Texas. He says he wants his dying body to be taken to the Capitol Building on Day 50 of the fast, so that everyone can see him die. He has also suggested that his dead body be paraded in Washington so everyone can see what the "Socialist/Communist IRS" did to him.

Um, I don't think they did anything. Everybody knows you have to pay taxes, and everybody knows it's the law. They're just doing their jobs. He's starving himself. No one is making Gene do that except Gene.

There are several interesting things about this "death fast", none of which have anything to do with religion, slavery, the IRS, or taxes.

First, during his "death fast" last year, there were photos showing him on each day. He sure looked pretty healthy for somebody who hadn't eaten in 40 days. For anyone interested in seeing his blog on that fast, see http://www.in-austin.com/death-fast/.

Furthermore, there is a rumor that the girl he was engaged to at that time (another very weird story) said that she was talking to him on the phone during the "death fast", and she distinctly heard the sound of a potato chip bag rustling. When she asked him what caused the noise, he told her that it was not for women to ask men questions.

I'd guess he was eating potato chips, otherwise he would have just answered the question. At any rate, I don't think I need to tell you that engagement didn't last.

So based on his last "death fast", there is a legitimate question as to whether he really is starving himself to death as he claims.

Right now, Gene claims that he's going blind. Then he claims that his eyesight is better. It reminds me of a Monty Python sketch. "Bring out your dead!" "No, I'm not dead yet." "Well, you will be soon." "No, I'm getting better!"

He also told God in a prayer (he records audioblogs, which is pretty annoying, but I digress) that the parents of IRS employees are to blame for his impending death, since they raised children evil enough to go to work for that agency. That was a pretty strange thing to say. He also specifically says that the IRS agent who put the screws to him, Beverly Lee, will burn in hell. He goes into quite a bit of detail about her burning in hell too. That was an even stranger thing to say. I take it he doesn't like her too much, but I'm sure the feeling is mutual.

He's very upset that the press isn't covering his "death fast". The idiot doesn't realize that, number one, some crazy guy starving himself to death over taxes is NOT newsworthy; and number two, the media doesn't cover suicides because it's unethical. Think about it. The only news reports you ever see which even mention suicide are reports about murder/suicides. Even then, the suicide is mentioned only as a way of explaining what happened to the killer. The mainstream press is never going to cover this story, nor should they. Only the lunatic fringe thinks it's newsworthy, and they're screaming to high heaven because no one's paying attention.

It is yet to be seen whether Gene will actually finish this "death fast", or if he'll find a way out of it. Again.

Personally, I think the authorities in the state of Texas need to have him involuntarily committed. The FBI tried to do that when he was mouthing off about the "Samson Solution", but some dumbass at the state hospital decided he wasn't a danger to himself or anyone else. Well, it's now just a couple of months later, and the guy is starving himself to death.

I think it's pretty clear that he's a danger to himself. Whether he's actually starving himself to death right now or not, anyone who makes that many suicide threats is eventually going to do it. I'm a little concerned that this time he may have backed himself into a corner, with no way out but to die.

Now, don't get me wrong. I don't want Gene Chapman to die - if nothing else, the world is more interesting with him in it. I just want him to stop being a megalomaniacal fake minister who comes up with bizarre publicity stunts to raise money and get attention. Oh, and it would be nice if he paid his taxes, too.

Only two things are sure in this life, it has been said. Death and taxes. Gene needs to choose taxes because, if he dies protesting the income tax when we all know it's the law, he won't go down in history as a "martyr". He won't go down in history at all. He'll be just another mentally ill person who took their own life, and were let down by the mental health system which is supposedly set up to save people like him from themselves.

To his thoughts I would add the names of all those who have yet to be killed in this senseless war based on lies and deception. The only weapon of mass destruction we've yet to identify is George W. Bush.

Where's Osama? Dubya sure forgot about him pretty quickly. Yet that's what started all this. Well, to be more accurate, this was started when Saddam dissed Dubya's daddy all those years ago.

I fear that Bush will feel that he has a mandate from the American people to continue to be a warmonger. If so, this is just the beginning. The list will continue to grow by leaps and bounds.

Rape/Kidnapping Victim Spots Attacker On "Blind Date"

Cops: Contestant was wanted for September 2003 rape

NOVEMBER 3--A California man is facing rape and kidnapping charges after his alleged victim recently spotted him appearing as a contestant on the NBC Universal reality show "Blind Date." According to cops, Ulrick White, 31, was nabbed Sunday in connection with the September 2003 attack of a 35-year-old Ventura County woman. While cops had been searching for White for a year, it was not until last month when they got a major break in the case. The victim told investigators she was watching TV when she heard a female "Blind Date" contestant refer to White by his nickname, Aswah. After identifying White--and his distinctive Jamaican accent--the woman recorded the remaining portion of the program and provided the videotape to detectives. Below you will find the Superior Court felony complaint filed against White, who is pictured at right in a booking photo. A recap of the October 22 "Blind Date" show--found on an NBC web site--provides this account of a date between "Tina and Aswah": "Aswah likes freaky women, and he thinks that all women who fit the bill are equally attracted to him. After some salsa dancing, things start to heat up." White, who owns a security company, is currently awaiting trial in Santa Barbara for allegedly breaking into another woman's apartment last November. "Blind Date," one of television's sleaziest shows, matches two singles for a date that is videotaped and then dissected. Since network brass have hit the mattresses following White's bust, it is unclear what, if any, background checks are conducted on "Blind Date" participants or when the episode featuring White was filmed. Good Lord. I'd say they're not doing background checks of any significance because, if they were, surely they would have found out about this.

The woman he dated on that show is lucky that she didn't end up as yet another victim. Who knows how many women he's attacked, since many rape victims never report the crime.

He likes "freaky women"? I think it's pretty obvious that he's the freak. What kind of man kidnaps and rapes a woman? None. Men don't do stuff like that. Animals do.
